COMPANY BACKGROUND
J. F. Rubber Phils., Inc. manufactures rubber parts for the automotive and electronic industries. The company also produces and supplies rubber compound to other companies. Its factory is located at Block 2, Lot 6 of the People's Technology Complex - Special Economic Zone in Carmona, Cavite, Philippines.
The company was established last 17 January 1992 under its previous name - JP-Aoki Rubber Philippines, Inc. It is a joint venture project of Filipino and Japanese Stockholders. It was also in 1992 when factory construction started and two pioneer employees were sent to Akita, Japan for training. Factory construction was completed on April 1993. At the same time, the machineries and equipment for manufacturing arrived and were installed. The first batch of production employees were trained and initial production and testing of rubber parts were made on May 1993. The factory's commercial operation started 7 July 1993.
Two years after, from May to October 1995, the factory underwent an expansion to support the continued increase of orders from customers and its continuous improvement projects. Quality control procedures improved from a purely visual inspection process to a system utilizing measuring and testing equipments maintained in a technical laboratory for material, process and product quality improvements.
On September 1998, the partnership between Aoki Rubber Industrial Co. Ltd. of Japan and JP-Aoki Rubber Phils., Inc. was terminated. This event led to the change of company name from JP-Aoki Rubber Phils., Inc. to "J. F. Rubber Phils., Inc." which was formally registered at BOI on 15 November 1999.
On 24 July 2000, J.F. Rubber Phils., Inc. (JFR) received its ISO 9002:1994 Certificate of Registration from the Governing Board of Certification International Philippines, Inc. that covers the scope of "Manufacture of Moulded-Rubber Products for the Automotive and Electronic Industries".
On 7 August 2001, JFR became a PEZA Registered enterprise and on the same month, the company entered into tie-up with Seien Gum - Japan and operation of injection machines started. On 30 October 2001, JFR has been selected by the DTI - CBI Integrated Program for Mobile Equipment as among the five Filipino manufacturing companies to promote Philippine rubber industry in Europe.
On 4 December 2004, the company received its QS 9000:1998 Certificate of Registration from AJA Registrars, Inc. Due to the increase in the global market demand, the company embarked in buying new equipment to continually improve its rubber molding process. With the advent of new quality management standards and the changes in demands and expectations of customers, the company acquired new sets of vacuum press machines and initiated mixing our own compound master batch. The company strived towards further improvements on its processes to become more effective and efficient.
After a long year of manufacturing in moulded automobile rubber parts, JFR adopted its own compounding machinery to provide its own compound rubber master batch. On January 2006, we have established Material Development and Compounding (MDC) Section under the supervision of QA/Technical Services Department. The function of this section is to create our own CMB recipe. The MDC Section has started to develop a recipe on a trial and error basis using the lab mill machine which then was evaluated by the assigned incoming inspector. After passing the material quality, the developed material was sent to Rubber Research Institute in Malaysia to test the ozone and volume resistivity. The rubber sample passed the material testing after a year of development. JFR started its own compounded master batch on the middle of the year 2007.
Last 17 July 2007, another milestone of the company was achieved. The Vehicle Certification Agency - Certification International Managing Director awarded the ISO/TS 16949:2002 Certificate to the organization. Compliance to ISO/TS 16949 requirement is maintained and practiced by the company up to the present.
In 21 May 2010, JFR received the 2nd Certification of Registration for ISO/TS 16949:2009 for complying with the requirements specified in automotive production and relevant service part organizations.
A year after, J. F. Rubber Phils., Inc. was certified to operate an Environmental Management System which has been assessed as conforming to ISO 14001:2004 for the scope of activities "Manufacturer of rubber molded products" and was issued a Certification No. CIP/4518/11/07/771 on 15 August 2011 by Certification International.
On 8 April 2013, VCA certifying body issued certificates to the company as conformance to ISO/TS 16949:2009 and ISO 9001:2008 standards.
On 12 August 2013, the Governing Board of Certification International Philippines had issued a continued certification of JFR's environmental management system to ISO 14001:2004 under the revised scope "Manufacture of compounded and rubber moulded products". This reconfirmation was based on the results of the second surveillance audit of the company's Environmental Management System on 8 July 2013. On 15 August 2020, TUV Nord issued Certificate of Registration No. 4410420930026 / Audit Report No. SEATH-E930320/2020 for JFR’s Management System as per ISO14001:2015 for the same scope above.
